The Chabala family of Hallowed Grounds has been dedicated to the art of independent small batch micro-roasting since 2007. Inspired by the big Pittsburgh coffee roasters, the Chabala's decided to bring their passion for the people of coffee, the places in which it is grown and the product itself home to the Beaver River Valley! The Chabala's romance with coffee runs deep and now includes their son, Drew, who has rejoined the family business and is learning the art of coffee roasting. Hallowed Grounds currently employs 5 associates along with one seasonal employee.
Hallowed Grounds sources coffee from farms, private estates, and co-ops where people as well as product are a priority. The Chabala family supports organizations that produce and export coffee to the highest international standards including working with farmers affected by third world struggles, where most coffee is grown. Partnering with coffee growers directly, enables conservation preserving ecological balance for future generations. Coffee proceeds are used by these communities to invest in housing, schools, health centers, and clean water.

With a convenient main street location the business benefits from events like the annual New Brighton car cruise and Halloween Parade. There is always something new at Hallowed Grounds and 2017 is no exception. This year the Chabala's are purchasing a brand new state of the art espresso machine along with revamping our flavor lineup. A new coffee is currently being sourced from Burundi and should be available by the end of February.
